Old Business:
The Keystone Classic held Saturday, June 2nd, 2007 at the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds was a great success as reported by
Kelly Anderson. Kelly stated that everything went well, very smoothly and quickly, all in all a fantastic show. We are looking
into our options for a different photographer for next years show.
Macy’s Parade. Kathy Ballantine reported that no one has shown and interest in doing this parade. The fact that
we must submit a drill routine on video with the application is proving to be difficult as a drill team would have to practice
very frequently and many of our members live too far from each other to make this practical.
Sharyn Knecht suggested that as a starting point for our Macy’s Parade drill routine, photos should be taken during
the Hambletonian Parade.
Rails to Trails drive: Sharyn Knecht reported that due to inclement weather the last drive had to be postponed and
during the summer months most members calendars are filled with other activities. Sharyn plans on getting another drive together
for the fall.
Hambletonian Parade. Sandy Lapp has reported that we have 11 members and 7 horses slated to be in this parade.
Ken Mott is supplying portable fences which will be at the designated meeting area on the City Hall lawn. Parking will
be in the college parking lot. As soon as Sandy has parking information she will get it out to the members.
KMHC Polo Shirts. Sandy Lapp has stated that the order date for the KMHC polo shirts has been extended and it is not
too late to order. Interested members may log onto our web site and order from there, call Sandy Lapp at (610) 965-9707 or
email Sandy at sandy.lapp@rodale.com.
New Business:
KMHC Fall Fun Show. Kelly Anderson and Mike Roe have been doing a wonderful
job with our shows but they need additional help with contacting Bill Eperthener to judge the fall show. Anyone who could
help out would be tremendously appreciated. Please give this some thoughtful consideration, your help is needed! Please contact
Kelly Anderson at hamhf@comcast.net or call Kelly at (215) 529-0627.
Small Farm Expo will be held in New Paltz, NY this year on October 13th and 14th. We need a volunteer to
chair this committee, Julie Forsyth has tentatively volunteered, must check her calendar to see if she has to work that week
end or not. KMHC has participated in this expo for the past 3 years.
Membership Application Form. Ken Mott stated that the membership application will be included in each publication of
the newsletter.
Membership Application Format. Linda Mott brought a sample of a competitors application which was a bit fancier than
our application. Jodi Knecht is going to check into the cost of getting something similar printed for the KMHC.
AMHR Convention, November 2007. Donna Julius emailed Ken Mott concerning the AMHR convention being held in Buffalo,
NY this year. Zone I will be hosting this years convention, we are in Zone I. A request has been made for a donation of $150
which would go towards the hospitality room and towards a table for the KMHC at the convention. We are recognized as an "official
club" of the AMHR and this is a great opportunity for club exposure.
Sharyn Knecht made a motion to send the $150 donation to the AMHR.
Kathy Ballantine seconded the motion, motion carried.
Gail Gougeon announced that the Southern Wayne Trail Riders is holding a week-end camp-out with fun and activities
planned at the Madison Fair Grounds, Brookfield, NY on September 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Everyone who attended last year said they
had the best time of their lives. Anyone interested please contact Gail at (570) 698-8766 or their secretary, June Reed at
(570) 676-0417 for more information.
Insurance Coverage. A question was raised as to how many events we are currently covered for. After some discussion
it was decided that blanket coverage may be more economical rather than to add each event as they arise. Sandy Lapp is going
to contact Kathy LaFrana and request that she obtain the costs from our agent.
Nomination Committee Chairperson. Linda Mott has volunteered to be the Nomination Committee Chairperson. The candidates
will be announced in September, voting will be by mail. The results will be counted and announced during the November meeting.
Christmas Breakfast Party. After a lengthy discussion it was decided by a majority vote to once again have our Christmas
Breakfast at Cherry’s Restaurant on December 2nd.
During the meeting Jodi Knecht was kind enough to pass out a helpful sheet on rotating wormers.
Please note: Ken and Linda Mott’s email was incorrect on the past newsletter, the correct email address is rminnies3@verizon.net
Ken Mott made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 3:36 PM.
Motion was seconded by Linda Mott.
Motion carried.
Respectfully submitted by
Sandy Gambuti
